About Sarah

I have received a rigorous academic education, both at a preparatory boarding school (St. Andrew's, DE) and at a highly selective university (University of Chicago, IL). I have experience working both with young children and with teenagers. As a teenager I co-founded a Math Circle for local kids 3-12yrs; each week we would select a math concept and create lesson plans for each age group, working to spur genuine conversation and curiosity. Around the same time, I served as a department peer tutor, offering students assistance in brainstorming, structuring, and revising their essays. I prioritize an empathetic approach: meeting a student wherever they might be, working to understand their particular motivations and frustrations, and crafting a path forward that works with (not against) their particular perspective and any potential challenges.
