I have 14. 5 years experience working (full-time) with individuals with developmental/physical disabilities and able bodied. In more recent times, I have cared for those at end of life stage. I am there for the person 100%! For their health and well-being, but mostly quality of life! I believe in promoting as much independence as one can have. When I have worked one-on-one or in someone's home, that was where I felt I could make the most difference. I have worked in medically and behavior-intensive settings. I also worked for NYSOPWDD and am required to pass an extensive background check, which I have. I absolutely love what I do and have never been told anything other than I do it well. My heart is full when I'm caring for people. I get out of it what I put into it, if not more so. If I can make someone in my care smile, laugh or feel comfort, I feel like my day was a successful one! I hope that my service to you or your loved one will be truly helpful!
