About Sarah

I'd describe my personality as kind, empathetic, and disciplined I like tutoring because I'm passionate about learning ! I'm looking for a job that can teach me about how different learners work and how I can be the best possible support for them. I am dedicated to bilingual education and equity in access to education. I started tutoring when I was in college, as an AP Spanish prep tutor. I have 5 siblings all of which I helped with schoolwork since I was 10. I then worked as an after school assistant and translator in Goleta. In my spare time, I like to hike or try coffee spots ! One thing you should know about me is I am good under pressure. I have worked in high stress environments and with children since I was very young. I am comfortable with speaking only Spanish if needed as well. My skills include writing, reading and language acquisition. I was a Bilingual Instructional aid and am currently a substitute teacher so I am comfortable with phonics and intensive reading .
