I gained my experience in an assisted living facility, sub-acute care unit at a hospital, and managing a home care company. In Harpswell, it was a joy caring for individuals at The Vicarage By the Sea and love the concept of care that is offered there. It's been a privilege getting to know families in my community and I'd like to offer my set of skills for those who need it. I have chosen direct family care because I love helping someone feel better and see a smile on their face. While caring for seniors and maintaining health is key, part of life is the end of it. Delicate as it may be to talk about, I am skilled with end of life care and have worked side by side with hospice. Okay. Sara was beyond amazing. I needed her totally last minute : I was about to have surgery and my daughter suddenly could not pick me up and spend the following night with me (her infant was sick). Sara came for the interview the day before. She was punctual, professional and at ease. The next day she was at the hospital, by my side, as I came out of surgery. She drove me home. Helped me in more ways than I dreamed I would need. Prepared dinner. Helped me bathe and dress and get into bed. Then, every 4 hours, she was awake to make sure I took the pain medicine, which was crucial. She helped me the next day and spent the following night at my house, helping all along the way. I don't know what I would have done without her. She was capable, calm, professional and understanding. I could not recommend her more highly.
