My family will forever be immensely grateful to Sanda for her outstanding work as a senior caregiver. Sanda took care of my mother, who suffered from dementia, between September 2019 and her death this December 2024 at the age of ninety-seven. Because my sister and I reside far from California, my mother would not have been able to remain content and carefree in her own home without this amazing help. My mother felt a deep, abiding affection for Sanda: her evening and night caregiver who quickly took on the unofficial status of general care manager -- even though she did not work 24-hour shifts (at least, not until the very end). The point is that Sanda swiftly mastered my mother’s physical and mental needs, as well as their respective evolution over time, so she defined the structure and method for the help being provided at other times of the day. She communicated well with my mother’s health practitioners and, in the end stage, worked very effectively with the hospice nurse. If you are lucky enough to bring Sanda into your home, you will have found a smart, well-educated, compassionate, and totally dedicated senior caregiver. Sanda knew how to keep my mother stimulated and engaged with real companionship, conversation, and various enticements (such as food). She also performed light household chores, ensuring that the bathroom, kitchen and laundry remained well organized and pristine. Toward the end, as my mother’s ability to chew and swallow declined, Sanda modified the entire meal prep accordingly. I should mention that she always cooked up tasty delicacies for myself and my son when we were there.
