Being that I'm 12 years older than my youngest sibling, caring for others came naturally. I used to serve in an Elementary schools full-time as a tutor, mentor, friend, and site leader. I lead after-school programs and organize events to encourage the students to stay engaged in their learning. As an Ameri-Corps member, I supported positive behavior changes and helped fill the gaps in the public education system. Before and after my time with DISD, I frequently care for four children between the ages of newborn and 3 years old. Many had dietary restrictions, while others were just picky eaters. Giving the people what they "want" and need is a specialty.
