I am a nursing major at Kent State University and I am looking to get more experience in care-giving! I have spent the last two summers working with a special needs child (40 hours a week). He suffers from ataxia autism, ADHD and difficulty speaking/communicating. In the past, I have also volunteered to assist with Special Olympics and other programs giving me the opportunity to interact with a variety of special needs children. I have a lot of experience with special needs, so I am interested in finding more experience! I would love to help out anywhere I am needed.

Sam is very reliable, trustworthy, dependable, responsible young lady who was our full-time sitter during the past 2 summers for our 3 young elementary aged children. Within the 3 children includes our son with severe autism. She was able to juggle and care for all 3 children. However, this introduced to the situation many other tough variables that Sam was able to handle very well. She became aware of some of the obstacles that parents of special needs kids face daily, something that sitters of neurotypical children will never be faced with. This makes Sam's childcare experience very specialized as she has handled many challenges with our children successfully and adapts very well & very quickly. I would highly recommend Sam as a sitter. Her laid back demeanor and her patience are her biggest assets and are the qualities that are the most helpful in the care of young children. It was especially helpful in our highly stressed household.
