About Ruth

I have two years of experience as a volunteer tutor with Boston Partners in Education, a nonprofit providing instruction in Mathematics, English, and other subjects for low-income children and adult learners. In that capacity, I provided tutoring services primarily in elementary Mathematics, for elementary school students and adult ESL learners. Tutoring references are available on request. Outside the classroom, I have been trained in tap dance, modern contemporary, and hip hop. I was a competitive dancer on the South African dance team until 2021 and became the world champion among adult female tap soloists that year. References for my experience with dance performance and instruction are available upon request. I'm patient, enthusiastic, and passionate about empowering students to develop a love of learning.
