About Ruth

While my background is in higher education (Ed. D), I have worked in the healthcare field with seniors and individuals with disabilities for 20+ years in various roles (as CNA, DSP, and in Management). In the last 4-years, and throughout the Covid-19 pandemic season, I lived with, cared for, and managed the overall health and well-being of an individual with an intellectual disability. As an adult foster caregiver, I was motivated to listen to, and help find creative opportunities for this individual to live out the kind of community life he desired. Not only did we cover miles and miles of trail hiking in various Indiana and Michigan state and county parks, but we also did mundane daily things such as cleaning, cooking, going out to eat, and visiting family, friends, and neighbors. It was a most enriching experience for both of us and although he had to move, I still stay in touch. I am now available to provide 1:1 care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.
