About Ruth

Hi! My name is Shelsie, and I'm a senior at Harvard College, graduating in May. I am majoring in Environment Science and Public Policy with a minor in Economics. I have extensive experience as a tutor. During my freshman year of college, I worked as an online math tutor for my alma mater, Boston Latin School, where I tutored students from 7th to 11th grade in subjects ranging from basic Algebra to advanced Pre-Calculus. In the summer of 2022, I served as a summer teacher and counselor for Harvard's PBHA Summer Urban Program (SUP), working primarily with children from underprivileged communities. I managed a classroom of 10 nine/10-year-olds, developing and teaching my own curriculum in American government and 3rd/4th-grade math while also leading engaging activities. Through this program, I received CPR and first aid training. I am happy to tutor in math, basic economics, science, test prep, and college prep! Looking forward to connecting with you and your family!
