About Ruth

I'd describe my personality as kind, easygoing, and curious. I have just always had the knack for working with kids! I find young people delightful and like being a positive influence. I was about 11 years old when I started babysitting. I worked as a nanny (infant) and at summer camps (6-10 yrs old) in college. After college, I worked with special needs kids, so am comfortable with kids who might have unique needs or behaviors. Since then, I had a career in the corporate world, but continued to be involved with kids, including as a volunteer big sister (Boston, Mass), and helping raise some young teens whose parent died. In my spare time, I like to read, paint, take walks, bake. I love to do such activities with kids--baking is always a big hit:) Imagination, patience, and a sense of humor are my strengths!
