About Ruby

I graduated in June from Cal Poly SLO with a degree in Biology, and I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. I love working with kids. I grew up babysitting, and have worked for multiple summer camps, including Wilderness Adventures, a youth adventure summer camp based in Jackson Hole. I have also worked at the YMCA in San Luis Obispo where I helped kids during zoom school, so I love teaching and helping kiddos with homework. I am great with resolving conflict and supporting kids, and have dealt with a wide variety of situations, from youth mental health to trouble with learning fractions. My hobbies include hiking, playing guitar, reading, cooking, skiing, and doing pottery. I am very creative and would love to do fun activities with kids, like pottery, collaging, and watercolor. At Cal Poly, I implemented a botany ceramics art curriculum at a local elementary school in San Luis Obispo, as this combines three of my favorite things-plants, art, and working with kids!
