This is the background check we require for all caregivers.
Experience: 2 yrs
My mother is a vice principal at a charter school in Houston and she has been working with kids her whole life and has taught me what she has learned. I've baby sat various times, I am the eldest of four so as a child I was always left with the responsibility of caring for my siblings while my parents worked. Now that I am older taking care of children is much easier because I am more experienced on how to deal with children and have learned allot on how to deal with children with behavioral problems. I have volunteered a great deal at schools and worked with kids K through 5 and in addition I have also spent a great deal with autistic students and learned to care for their needs. Every child is different and special and the approach a care taker must take in order to care for them is important in guaranteeing that the care giver and child relationship is successful.

We interviews. Everything worked out and she was hired. I asked her three times for her insurance and ID. The day she started, she did show up early and provided me with her ID. EVERYTHING FELL APART AFTER THAT DAY. She was late the following three days. I informed her she needed to be on time and I needed her there by 7:15 am the latest. She shows up and 7:41 the next day!!!!! After texting me at 7:23 in response to my phone call and texts, stating that she was turning in..... Lie! That same day. She drops my son to school with NO SCHOOL BAG. TO GO TO SCHOOL. Now mind you, the only thing she has to do is take him to school. He's lunch is packed, breakfast made, he's dressed. She literally just needs to put him in the car seat. Drop him to school. And pick him up and drop him home. Fine. He's at school with no food not snacks. But luckily the restaurant by his school serves lunches (started that week). She informed me that she would call and place an order for his lunch (instead of her going back to the house and getting his school bag). At 12:24 his school calls me because my child is the only child who was suppose to have an ordered lunch, and was sitting there food less. The next day. She reportedly has car troubles, coming from the same young lady who in her interview said she had two cars. I had already told her during the week that I would need the car seat for the weekend, I texted and called all weekend and this girl gave me the runaround. Finally Sunday. I went to get my key, car seat, and Friday payment I paid her ahead of time. The little girl proceeds to tell me that she needed it because she had not been reimbursed for gas. Now mind you. In he interview. I asked her. What she wanted to be paid hourly. She told me she has been paid between $10-$15 per hour. But it's up to me because it's per family. Since his school is 20 minutes MAX away, it wouldn't even be a hour of her day, so I told her, I'll just do $20 a day. This girl starts to tell me we discussed $10 an hour, so finally enough was enough. Clearly she's a liar and she's manipulative. She's very undependable and will cost more stress than help. I really wanted to like her. She's seems very sweet but be very very careful. Put EVERYTHING in writing if you do hire her.
