I have many years experience with special needs. I have worked in 2 group homes with Alzheimer's and Down Syndrome. Each home had 4 individuals and I treated them as part of my family. I get attached easily. I recently worked with mentally challenged adults in a day program for 8 years. I love sharing experiences and knowing that by being there for them and showing them something new and something old, I may have made a difference in that person's life for the day or long term. It makes me feel good at the end of the day knowing I made someone smile.
