About Rinchen

Experience: 12 yrs

I've been a childcare provider for over a decade because there's no better joy than nurturing young minds and witnessing their growth. My patient and friendly demeanor puts children at ease, while my creativity keeps them engaged with imaginative play and educational games. I believe in open and regular communication with parents, providing daily written reports and updates via text or phone calls. I have experience caring for children of various ages, from toddlers to preteens, and am comfortable enforcing household rules to ensure a safe and structured environment. Besides being CPR and First Aid certified, I'm also happy to help with light housekeeping and cooking nutritious meals. I'm fluent in both Chinese and English and am comfortable with pets. I'm seeking a position where I can use my skills and experience to make a positive impact on the life of a child.

We recommend Rinchen L. in the strongest possible terms for employment as a caregiver or household assistant. Rinchen is responsible, kind, compassionate and energetic. She took on many roles for us – primarily, as a caregiver for my elderly and semi-demented father, but also a cook for the family, and a babysitter and driver for our seven-year-old daughter. She was always cheerful, positive, and friendly in all her interactions, as well as discreet and respectful. We recommend her to you unreservedly. For approximately a year, Rinchen worked for my family, mostly in the capacity of looking after my elderly and semi-demented father, who was then living with us. Caring for him in our house eventually became too difficult. He began to frequently lose his temper and his bearings, and he was recently moved into a different setting. In his final months with us, he was frequently confused and sometimes verbally aggressive, including with Rinchen. But Rinchen was able to manage him and his outbursts with compassion and care, even though it was an increasingly difficult situation for all of us. Moreover, she helped our daughter during the process, tactfully shielding her from some of my father’s confusion. We were and remain immensely grateful to her. In addition to spending time with my father, she helped him with all his routines, including taking him on regular walks, helping him with daily needs, including self-care and grooming, and preparing meals for the two of them in the middle of the day. At the end of the day, she picked up our daughter from school, usually taking my father along for the ride, so that he would have an outing and social interaction outside the home. She then prepared an evening meal for the whole family before she left. She did all this with great care and good cheer, and we felt extremely lucky to have had her come into our lives. After my father’s departure, we no longer had need of a full-time caregiver at home. Rinchen is now looking for a new full-time position. She is drawn to helping elderly clients, even those in various states of impairment or cognitive decline, and she sees this caregiving as a manifestation of her Buddhist ethics and commitment to compassion. She is also energetic and sweet with children and has two grown children of her own. We can imagine her helping families who have needs for either kind of care, or some of both. We would be glad to speak further about Rinchen and answer any questions you may have. If we had need of her again for any full-time role, we would not hesitate for an instant to re-hire her. She was and is very much a part of our family. Sincerely yours, David G and Daniela C
