I have credential in Special Education, I teach in a systematic manner while building a supportive rapport with all my students. In the last few years, I have helped children and adolescents acquire academic, communication, and functional skills by tailoring my instruction to their learning styles, interests, goals, personalities, emotional development, and level of cognition and academic achievement. For those individuals to whom this is applicable, I implement assessments to identify their strengths and gaps in understanding and filling in those gaps by "chunking" task work, and correcting, reviewing, re-teaching, and re-testing the subject matter. I teach students to connect the meaningful parts of their lives to the curriculum and praise them for their efforts and successes, no matter how incremental.
