I currently work as an 8th grade English Language Arts teacher and department chair in the Leander Independent School District. Many of my readers are below grade level when they start the school year and it is my proud work to bring them up to speed. This year my department was able to get a pass rate of 90% on the Reading STAAR with our 8th grade learners, many of whom did not pass the STAAR test in previous years.
