I am writing this letter of recommendation for Renee T., our nanny of the last eight years. With my 15-year-old daughter at a boarding program for ballet and my son entering middle school, we hope to find a family who will be able to benefit from Renee's loving care. My daughter was in second grade and my son an ACTIVE toddler when Renee began with our family. Renee has seen us through eight years of pre-professional ballet at Orlando Ballet, four years of my husband living in Tennessee for work, two kids at two difference schools and a mountain of homework at their schools. When I say ACTIVE toddler, that is an understatement. By age 11, my son has had SEVEN casts. Not one injury was under Renee's care. He prides himself in arriving on the first day of school with a new cast. He achieved for his first day of pre-K and then later three years in a row! Renee is well versed in food issues. A. is gluten free due to celiac disease. T. is gluten free AND has anaphylactic allergies to apples, cherries, and peanuts. Renee is able to follow directions to maintain their strict diet. Renee also grocery shops from a list we share on an iPhone app. Renee runs errands of all types and is particularly well versed in clothing and crafts. Renee is an accomplished jewelry designer and has a wonderful sense of style. She helps select clothes for my daughter when she was a pre-teen and teenager. Maybe referee would be a better word? Renee gets along with other members of my staff with ease. I am a stay at home mom, so she is comfortable working when I am home. I prefer routines to maintain sanity, so Renee is familiar with that request and diligently hangs backpacks, cleans lunch boxes, washes and repacks swim team gear. Renee cares for Buddy, the family dog. She feeds and walks him. Buddy eagerly waits for her each afternoon. The neighbors compliment me on her friendliness. My friends have all come to know and like Renee. I am a stickler for homework so Renee can call spelling words, hold flashcards, quiz study guides and practice addition facts with endless patience. Her craft skills are incredibly handy when the dreaded school projects roll around. I can't remember a day Renee missed work. Ever. In eight years.
