Hi there! I'm a nanny from a large extended family who has been casually taking care of babies and kids as long as I've been able to hold them and professionally off and on since I was 16. My longest nanny position was for a family of two little ones (3 and 13 months when I met them). I worked with them for two years until the girls went off to school and have many happy memories with them. My approach to childcare is setting boundaries early and then letting them be chaotic within those boundaries. For example, I would set up with pool noodles "messy stations" where the girls could make messes out of water colors or flour or anything else a 3-year-old can make a mess with. I love messy play and elaborate blanket forts and turning unpleasant things like doctor's visits into a journey to a new town where we get to find the best donuts. I work part time on a political campaign in Seattle and live in lower Queen Anne but just can't seem to leave kiddos behind!
