I have been working with children in a professional capacity for over 10 years. I am a licensed elementary educator in DC with teaching experience in grades 1-3. After teaching, I was an elementary school vice principal for two years before moving into my current role as a reading specialist for a charter network in DC. I was a weeknight nanny for a family with 2 young children (ages 6 months and 2 years when I started) for a year and a half before they moved out of the area. Since they have moved, I am now hoping to support families on an as-needed basis with evening or weekend childcare. I am open to both recurring jobs and one-time jobs. I am not typically available during the work day as I do have my own full-time job. However, I am on summer vacation from June 16-August 16 and am available to provide daytime care during that period. I have my own reliable car, I adore children and I love pets. Becca is a fantastic sitter! This was my first time booking someone formally and someone who was new to my family. Becca is warm, kind, responsive, and connected so very well with our preschooler. She was ready to engage him right away to build his trust. Becca also helped set me at ease by answering questions and providing a reference. Very helpful. Our kiddo was delighted by their time together and asked if she could babysit him again as they said goodbye. We look forward to seeing Becca again as a sitter!
