About Rebecca

Hello! My name is Rebecca, a local from the Bay Area who holds a Masters in Urban Education and Mild-Moderate Special Education Teaching Credential. I recently moved back to the area from Humboldt County and am taking a break from classroom teaching to pursue new career opportunities. In the meantime, I am enjoying the flexibility of working through care. com and remote teaching/tutoring gigs. I worked as a Resource Specialist in Humboldt County for the past year, and in Alameda the previous 3 years. Prior to that, I was the 3rd-4th grade classroom teacher at a specialized non-public school in Oakland for 2 years. I have also worked as a middle school teaching assistant, Spanish teacher, and English teacher abroad. I discovered care. com when I was a teaching assistant and have worked extensively with students 1:1 both with academics, social-emotional regulation, and life skills. Most recently I have worked with children ages 8-12 but feel comfortable with those as young as 2.
