I started in home care almost 29 years ago in a group home for handicap patients. Since then I have cared for clients with a multitude of different needs. I have a range of experience coming from a background in medical assisting and worked in medical offices for over 10 years. In my current position, I have been dressing, bathing, brushing teeth, physical therapy, changing foly catheters (male), using hoyer lifts both hydraulic and electric, I cook, clean, run errands, transport, ect. In February I started caring for a terminal patient who passed in early July. It is important for me to give quality care. I understand how difficult it is being in a position where one has to rely on others and know that it can be difficult to find someone who cares about the patient and not just that paycheck. So I like to get to know my clients to help provide a safe, supportive, loving environment for them to enjoy life and not just go through the motions from day to day.
