Hi, I have over 10 years experience in babysitting and have been a professional nanny for over three years. I've taken care of children from age newborn up to age 12. I have done nanny shares in the past, taking care of up to four children at a time. Things that are important to me include: Playing, be it in the dirt outside or on the floor in the playroom. I think play is a very important tool for children's growth, and kids should have fun. Learning and teaching. I have a background in early childhood education. I love to learn and I love helping children learn new things too. That is one reason I love to turn everyday activities into learning opportunities for all different ages. Such as, practicing counting, colors, and recognizing letters and sight words with little ones. As well as helping with homework and creating fun science/physics projects with older children. Reading, music, art, and movement are also important to me and I integrate them into my daily routines with the children I care for. Team work and communication. I can't stress how important it is for caregivers and parents to be on the same page. I truly do enjoy what I do and I believe that any career involving shaping children's futures and helping them grow is one of the most important roles. So, it's important that you see me as a partner in parenting, because my job, after all, is to help make life easier for you and fun and enriching for the children. Also important to me is setting clear expectations. That way, I know what you are looking for from me, and what I can expect from you. I am flexible with my schedule, though I prefer a set time frame. I am experienced with cloth diapers and disposables (and potty training), breast milk as well as formula, and I am also experienced working with stay at home parents! I am comfortable feeding pre-made baby food (jarred), or I am very experienced at making home made food! I love being a nanny. I have a knack for creative projects, music and no problem reading the same book or playing the same game a hundred times. Also, I am CPR/First Aid Certified as well as background checked.
