I have been care giving for the last six years. In the beginning I was taking care of my own father who was diagnosed with dementia then my mom got it to follow. They both needed 24/7 care and medication assistance. I have worked through a company here I was able to take many different classes on taking care of clients with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. They are not easy on the patients or the family but having a caring understanding patient person to help you with them is always helpful. I worked in this line of work till 2023 when both my clients passed away and then I stayed with the same company but moved into working with a handicapped client. This is what I am Currently doing now and with this client I do a range of things from bathing to changing and doing housework as well as making meals. I also help get her dressed and moved into her chair for appointments. As well as medication assistance on a daily basis.
