I've dealt with many special needs children during my lifetime. In fact, my son was diagnosed with severe ADHD and a spatial deficit, when he was barely four years old. One of my daughters was also diagnosed with bi-polar II, so when I was very young, I had my hands full, to say the least. Just when I decided I had the special kids down pat, I was asked to help the ESE and special ed. kids at school, and I ended up developing many programs that assisted them to learn at an accelerated rate. Obviously, I know the way they are, and I've had extensive practice with them. Of course, with five kids of my own (almost all grown now), came dozens of kids that hung around my home on a daily basis. As of recent, I became a grandmom of three more, and I figure... that's about all the experience anyone could ever 'hope' to have, when it comes to kids. I prefer to watch the kids at my home, and I'm more than happy to take kids for however long is needed. The more, the merrier, as I always say. ;) After all, isn't that what God says to do; look after his children? I tend to agree! Feel free to contact me if you're interested in a sitter that truly cares about kids, regardless of their age and regardless of what type of special needs they have. The way I see it, all kids have special needs. Just some have more than others. :)
