About Rachida

Disclaimer: we did not end up actually working with Rachida so I do not know how she is with the kids. My rating and experience for everything that happened before working with her. We found Rachida thru Care.com when she reached out to my job posting for a part time nanny. We already had one but she could not stay longer hours so I was looking to replace. We spoke with Rachida over the phone and even in person where she met the kids and infant that the posting was mainly for. At multiple points of discussing and meeting, we told her it would be for the baby and Rachida agreed, explaining she prefers working with babies as well. We had a start date in place, 2 weeks after we had met. She knew I had already told our part time nanny that I found someone, so she could start looking elsewhere. Just a few days before Rachida was set to start, she texted me saying her knees won’t be able to handle taking care of a baby and that she prefers working with older kids. This was right before I was transitioning to a new job (and hence the need for longer hours), and she put me in a terrible situation by not being forthright with her needs and telling me so last minute. The fact that she didn’t tell me ahead of time when she had multiple chances to let me know, and that she knew it was after I had already let go of our other part time nanny, was extremely irresponsible, thoughtless, and unprofessional. She never responded to my last text which was to let her know she should’ve voiced such a concern earlier. I wasn’t sure whether to post a review since she never ended up working with us, but I have decided to post because of the lack of response from her as well as to let other families to beware of this experience. I was left in a position with no help because of the handling of situation by Rachida. I know so many other families who have been put in a tough situation last minute and I would hate for this to happen to anyone else.
