I grew up with dogs and they were like family. I rescued a mixed breed large pitbull from an abusive situation. He had been used as a trained fighting dog. I spent many months training him and showing him love. This was very difficult and it took a long time to get him to where he could get around other dogs. I have patience and can read their body language. I learned different techniques to walk him. He was my best friend and lived a long and happy life. I also took care of my friend's dog for a week. I took care of parakeets as well. I had pet lizards growing up as a kid. Pet duck I raised and also took care of a ferret for a about 6 months.
