Hi! I have been a child care provider for 7 years. The past year I have been working as a live-in aid for a joyful little 4-year-old boy with a rare syndrome known as ADNP. The syndrome itself features intellectual disability & autism spectrum disorder, which, for him, has caused an absence of verbal communication, impaired social interaction, & behavior difficulties. I worked with his team of therapists (ABA, speech, OT) in order to implement their practices into his daily life, & have been blown away at the progress we've made over the past year. It has been truly life-changing for me! Working as a live-in provider gave me a unique perspective on the dynamic & challenges that a family faces on a daily basis. I know how important it is to be calm & positive, flexible but firm, & how to incorporate humor along the way! Encouraging independence & self-confidence are at the top of my goals when working with any child, especially through the use of play, music, & self expression!

Rachel worked with us for a year. She was always on time and has been passionate about her work with children. Her specialty was working one on one with our special needs son. This consisted of changing diapers, being on call at night, feeding him proper and healthy meals and teaching him self care skills. She is very structured with routine for both of our children (7 & 4 ) and follows through with many fun and child oriented games and tasks. Although, I am home most of the time she would be able to easily nanny children with a structured schedule independently with out parent supervision.
