Hello! I'm looking for a full time position in Pennsylvania. I live in State College and would prefer to stay close to here but I'm also willing to move for the right family. I have 7 years total of childcare experience. I worked in daycare's locally for about 3 years, newborn care specialist for 1 year and now I have been a nanny for a family for 3 years, and my time with them is coming to a natural ending. I believe in play based learning, and child led learning. I like to observe children's interests and integrate lessons based around those subjects. I'm also a strong believer of talking about feelings, autonomy and implementing gentle discipline methods. I also love to institute everyday tasks into our days. I like to loosely follow Montessori philosophies where I encourage independence, and believing children can achieve so much more than we think if we allow them to try. I also love to include them in cleaning and cooking from an early age.

Rachel was part of the team that took care of my one year old daughter at daycare. She was great with my baby, gave her the attention and care that she needed while mom and dad were at work for 9 hours a day. My baby and the babies in the classroom adored her. She brought baby books to class to share with the kids and they loved their circle time with her. Baby Emma misses Miss Rachel now that we moved to Southern California.
