I've worked with children with special needs in various settings! For starters, I tutored a 6-year-old girl in reading for about a year who was diagnosed with severe A. D. H. D. My main goals with working for her was for her to be able to read at her age level, and doing so required on my end a lot of patience, energy, focus, and compassion. But it was definitely one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever had! Getting to see her improvement was such a joy, as well as learning myself how to encourage her when she got frustrated was such a great experience. In addition, I also have babysat 3 children with autism, ranging from mild to more severe. To sum it up, I love working with special needs kids! I think they have a unique gift to offer the world, and as a caregiver or helper in their life, I get the privilege to work with them and help them in different areas of their life.
