About Rachel

I love kids and I am coming to care. com after working for almost a decade in public lands as a trail worker and mason. I am looking to make a career change into education, and will be taking classes in early childhood (and forestry!) in the spring. In the past, I worked at a Montessori school with infants and toddlers, and also with ages 3-6. I love the Montessori approach to the child as a person, and how it respects the needs and challenges of the child. I love crafting, biking, hiking, strolls, skiing, outings to the library or around town, cooking, and including kids in all of it. I grew up in a family of six and a great extended family on both sides, so I've been around kids of all ages all my life! I've also babysat since I was a teenager and have also been a nanny.
