I am the oldest of four and my youngest brother is dual-diagnosed with autism and downs, mostly non-verbal and still working on independent bathroom use. We love him to death and have all cared for him in one capacity or another. I'm also a seasoned teacher with special needs training and experience with dozens of students with a variety of special needs. As a music teacher, I love to incorporate music therapy in whatever work I do. Though I never accepted pay for caring for my brother, I put one year of paid experience to represent the minimum equivalent of my legitimate experience. My sister works full time caring for my brother and as I know it can be hard to find care for high needs individuals, I would find it extremely personally rewarding to learn the intricacies of an individual's needs and bless someone like my brother with care from the heart.
