I have cared for a girl with CP (and retarded since birth ) for approximately one year. She's now 35 yrs old. That included lifting her to a changing table, transferring her to a wheelchair, showering, dressing, feeding and keeping her smiling! It is a very rewarding experience to work with the handicapped ,,,,, and will now at this point in my career I'd be glad to now work as a fill-in or substitute for the regular caregiver for the elderly as a companion and ADLs. I have spent 20 plus years with the elderly, companion, and rehab cases. Dementia and Alzheimer's too . Rachel . I now care for lymphedema patients and fall risk companion work.
