Hello! I am currently an elementary special education teacher. I will be in Snowmass for part of my summer and am available for part-time childcare and tutoring from July 10th-August 5th. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Master's degree in Elementary Education, and a Teacher of Students with Disabilities certificate. I currently teach fifth grade, but have spent most of my 10 years teaching in lower elementary grades (pre-k, kindergarten, first, and second grades). I'm heading to third grade in the fall! Last summer I worked with preschoolers in an extended school year program. I have worked with children of all ages in a variety of settings. I am available to tutor and can provide individualized instruction to help your child(ren) progress and succeed. I would be happy to tutor virtually as well. I first met Rachel when she was my son's 1:1 aide at a private school for children with autism. I was immediately impressed with her dedication, her patience and her skills. After working with my son for two years at school, I hired Rachel to continue to work with him at home. My son made tremendous strides in reading, writing, and math during this time. Rachel has a unique way of reaching every child she works with. She is able to connect even with the most unfocused or non-verbal child and achieve success on so many levels. Rachel was also instrumental in progressing my son's social skills and aiding him in the community. Anyone who is fortunate enough to work with Rachel will definitely see improvement in their child.
