About Rachel

I grew up taking care of a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, parrots, rats, snakes, lizards, toads, and fish. Additionally, I volunteered at a zoo and aquarium for seven years and was trained to care for and handle a variety of reptile, amphibian, avian, and small mammal species, as well as fish and stingrays. I also helped rehab some animals, such as an abandoned baby squirrel. In addition to the breadth of species I have experience caring for, I also have lots of experience with medication administration and caring for elderly cats and dogs with health concerns. I am very passionate about ethical animal care so have a plethora of knowledge about animal needs so I can make their lives as enriching and happy as possible. In terms of pet care, I provide overnight house sitting, drop-in, and dog walking services. I am a UNC-Asheville student temporarily living in Statesville due to hurricane Helene, so unfortunately I cannot accept long-term jobs.
