About Rachel

I graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2012 with a degree in Communications and a minor in Marketing. I worked as a Marketing Coordinator for one year then I was laid off. My job was great but I did not love it, coming from a massive family (32 cousins and counting!) I have always known that I wanted to pursue working and caring for children. Two weeks after being laid off, I went to Costa Rica to volunteer. I completed 80 hours of volunteer work over the course of a month, 45 of which were at an orphanage working with children ages 1-10 (35 hours doing turtle conservation volunteer work). During my time at the orphanage, my love for children grew, even with the English/Spanish barrier! I had so much fun planning activities and games with the kids and grew so attached. I knew when I came back to the states I would be continuing work with children. I believe that living a healthy and active lifestyle is of the utmost importance! I love to play games indoor and outdoors using my and their imaginations as much as possible. I am also extremely nurturing toward any kids, and love hugs and showing affection. I just love showing them that they are appreciated and loved!
