This past year I worked with Eagle Mount Ski Program and Special Olympics Young Athletes. For Eagle Mount, I worked with a 19-year-old female over a course of 8 weeks. She had learning disabilities, and became very timid skiing, but overall was enthusiastic and so fun to spend time with. By the end, she had become a stronger skier and more willing to try harder stuff. It was an honor to work with her and train her to become more comfortable to skiing. Special Olympics Young Athletes is a program basically training children ages 2-7 years old for Special Olympics. Over an 8 week period we worked with 4-7 children on teaching them the basics like throwing a ball, jumping, kicking a ball, etc. Most of the children, I think, had cases of autism. It was an experience I am thankful I was a part of. With my degree in psychology, the job options are versatile. I either want to pursue a career being a School Psychologist or a Behavioral Therapist working with kids with autism.
