We give Rachael our highest recommendation. She cared for our 98-year old father for almost two years at night until his recent passing. We were incredibly fortunate to have hired her. Our father was bed-bound the last 6 months and required vigilant, tender nursing care. He was still lucid, still mentally sharp, and able to express his likes and dislikes, although he couldn’t see or hear too well. It was important that his caregivers engaged him, talked to him, offered him choices whenever possible as they tended to his needs. Rachael was absolutely perfect with him in this regard. She really talked with him, joked with him, kept him entertained with his favorite TV shows, music and opera arias and her description about the birds we always fed outside his window. We trusted Rachael totally with his care as his daughters did not live locally. Daily communication was via a joint text stream and with daily phone calls. She communicated promptly and clearly, never missed a day, arrived on time, worked well with other caregivers we eventually hired and was always willing to step up when needed. She was a blessing during our Dad’s last days when we really needed her. We can summarize her duties as follows: Bedbound bathing, toileting, wound care, administering medicine and nebulizer treatment, preparing simple meals if needed and attending to his personal hygiene. She also interacted with visiting nurses. She kept the daily log and detailed care notes we had set up for our caregivers.
