For the past 18 years, I have worked to prepare myself to make a profound impact on today s society. As the eldest daughter of a single father, I was offered the opportunity to care for my younger siblings at a very early age, while my father, ran our small family auto repair shop in Harbor City. My father raised my sister and I, to respect our elders, stay god centered, and to better yourself, by getting an education. Many attributes that have allotted him the opportunity to be a successful small business owner. Since graduating from New Millennium Charter High School I was accepted to Paul Quinn College in Dallas Texas. Upon receiving the opportunity to go away from home to attend college, I was faced with the harsh reality of adult hood and decided to come back home to Los Angeles to continue my education and also assist my father with his business as needed. As a young lady I have always enjoyed working with children. Children are god s gift to the world. They are pure, simple, and innocent. In that, I know and understand the importance of being responsible, and detail oriented regarding caring for children. As the eldest sibling and also someone who has had multiple experiences caring for children within the community I serve, I feel this employment opportunity as a match to my specific skill sets. I love the outdoors! My family and I camp annually, and continue to participate in outdoor activities. My experiences, caring for two young children, whom my neighbor needed assistance with while she and her husband were engaging in adult outings, and other family events. My responsibilities included, picking and dropping them off at school occasionally, as well as caring for their home while they were gone for the weekend, in addition to when he needed assistance. Weekly laundry was also a task that I assisted the family with. I am capable of caring for a home, and completing those task without prompts or daily reminders. Once the parameters are set, I am more than capable of carrying out and completing those task. As the eldest daughter, this was part of my daily duties as a youngster. As a student at New Millennium Charter High School, I graduated with a 3. 4 GPA. I am willing to assist the children with their daily homework assignments as well as creating and completing arts and crafts. I own two of my own German Shepard s and do not mind caring for an animal.
