I started working with children with disabilities when I was in elementary school, when I was chosen to be paired with a peer in the Special Education classroom . Starting then, I began to build amazing relationships and friendships and finding my passion for supporting people with disabilities. I continued to build on my relationships by becoming a helper in the special education classroom in middle school and high school and becoming the lead coach for our schools Special Olympic team. In college, I have taken many courses to learn more about different disabilities. Through Social Work courses, Autism seminar, and Rehab Psychology class, I have gained so much knowledge about how to best support children with disabilities. In addition, I have started working for Family Path Autism, as a behavioral technician for a child with Autism, using ABA therapy. I hope to continue to create a difference in children's lives and support them in discovering their strengths and abilities!
