I am fluent in ASL and have worked with many Deaf and/or Blind individuals, including children. I was the nanny to an 8-year-old boy with nearly no vision in one eye. I accompanied the boy to vision therapy and did daily tasks with him in order to build his eye strength. For the past couple years, I have been the nanny to two wonderful 7-year-old twin girls. One has Autism, and the other has cerebral palsy and epilepsy. I've worked with the first girl on prioritizing safe bodies, identifying emotions, techniques for emotional regulation, communication, and school subjects. Most of my time with her consists of hours of play-doh, dress-up, and playing games from the show Bluey. With the second girl, my care tasks include changing her, brushing and moisturizing hair, bathing, transferring, school pick-up, playing, medicating, preparing meals, and feeding her through a g-tube. She also has a history of seizures that are currently being mostly controlled through medication.
