About Penny

Penny has cared for our three children (ages 7 years, 2 years, and 1 year) countless times over the last few months. She is among several different nannies/sitters who have cared for our children, as my husband and I are both working professionals. We don't like to compare our nannies, but we can't help but find ourselves constantly saying, "Penny is by far the best with the kids." Her engagement with our kids is unmatched. She consistently goes out of her way to involve them in activities, some of which she has brought from home. She has a way of getting down on their level, talking and playing with them, and really relating to them which I find rare. I have a son (7 years old) who is mildly autistic, and while other caretakers often seem to find difficulty interacting with and relating to him, Penny has quickly and easily developed a genuine bond and connection with him. She really seems to care about all of our children, always making sure they eat, preparing lunches without being asked, and remembering their favorite things, just to name a few examples. In addition, she brings with her a maturity and ability to gently set boundaries with the kids that enable things to always go smoothly when our kids are in her care. Perhaps this comes from her past childcare experience as a school teacher.
