I have been a private caregiver in my community for over 25 yrs . Most of my clients have been lovely individuals whose wish is to maintain independence in their home. I have extensive experience with many forms of dementia , diabetes, strokes , Parkinson's disease as well as paraplegic and quadriplegic care. I believe in caring for the entire person, not just the obvious needs! Kindness and compassion are key to quality of life , as well as maintaining one's dignity. I love cooking , gardening, and enjoy meeting new people. I bring positive energy and a can do attitude to the table, as well as a full cup of common sense ! CPR and first aid certified and fully vaccinated!

Pearl’s experience, knowledge, character, and compassion make her one of the best. Pearl cared for my mother for the last two and a half years—through cancer treatment, rehab, Hospice, and my mother's final moments. I will be forever grateful for everything Pearl did so that my mother could live in her own home through the end of her life. And Pearl’s care of my mother also meant everything to me, personally. With Pearl, I carried less of the burden of care, and I could focus more on my relationship with my mother. (Also: Pearl could get my mom to do things—for example, drink the liquids she was supposed to drink before a procedure—that would sound like nagging if I were the one telling her she needed to do it. With Pearl, the tension wasn’t diffused, it was just gone. They had a wonderful rapport.) Pearl cooked, kept the house tidy, helped with my mom’s dog, took my mom to appointments, helped manage medications, eventually helped with bathing, coordinating care with Hospice, other end-of-life needs—and much more. Pearl is amazing. She sees what needs to be done and she does it, efficiently. (So many times I wondered, is she wearing a cape? how does she know how to do this? She's a super hero.) She finds ways to make things better for the ones she cares for. She’s hardworking, thoughtful and generous, often goes above and beyond, and she's hilarious. She makes everyone laugh. Who knew the end of life could have so many moments of joy, exuberance, levity—and LOVE? Pearl brings compassion, care, and dignity to her work. She always "met my mother where she was"—being a confidante and pep talker when that's what my mother most needed, helping her through some of the hardest days. When a new nurse came to the house on one of my mother’s final days, my mother was distressed and confused, and wanted only to speak to Pearl. It was Pearl's day off, but I called, and Pearl picked up immediately. She listened patiently, spoke to my mom gently, with such compassion and love, and reassured my mother and eased her distress. If I had to do it all again, I'd hope I could be fortunate enough to have Pearl’s help.
