I have always loved working with kids all ages with special needs! During my years in High School I applied to a class called Disability Awareness and worked as a student aid. My role provided support for the kiddos during their gym class, along with being a peer mentor. I also volunteered for 2 years at the special Olympic events. This year I worked as a Direct Service Provider in Wisconsin at a company called Integrated Development Services. I was required to undergo 40 hours of training both online and in the clinic I worked for. I was highly educated on Autism and the needs of kids on the spectrum. I was assigned to work with 4 kids ages 9, 11, 12 and 16. Each kiddo had different goals I worked on involving peer play, daily living tasks, along with goals on communication and relationship building. I can not express enough how wonderful it is working with children with disabilities. I am extremely passionate about working with these creative, loving and fantastic kiddos.
