About Patrick

My interest and experience in senior care began when I was a boy, but recently I discovered a capacity and an affinity for this kind of work. My grandmother lived with us when I was growing up; she was legally blind and increasingly frail as she aged. I read to her, listened to music with her, and audio-described her TV shows. I treasure having shared the start of my life as she reached the end of hers. A few years ago, my stepfather, in his mid 80s, began to decline. My mother was overwhelmed, and I had to help. I found caring for my stepfather demanding, but I enjoyed helping. I hope my Nana would be proud. These experiences lead me to seek a position in the field of senior care. I'm outgoing, compassionate and reliable. I'm very punctual. I enjoy theater, opera and film and I'm well read. My skills include cooking. Having had Type 1 diabetes since age 4, I understand special dietary needs. I can perform errands and lighthouse work. As a former actor, I enjoy reading aloud.
