I am a friendly and patient experienced math tutor (7+ years). I like tutoring because I can help students build confidence. I love seeing the "a-ha" moments when they go from "hating" math to "Oh, I get this!" I am looking to tutor upper elementary or middle school students with their math homework (including accelerated summer classes). I tutor at Mathnasium Sunnyvale. It is a great program but some students thrive in a quieter environment where they can get one-on-one help without distractions. So in my spare time, I tutor privately. I also enjoy reading, playing the piano, hiking, and volunteering. I am passionate about math and motivating students to learn the concepts. I can also tutor ESL students with English and other subjects. My skills include upper elementary math, Algebra 1 and 2, and Geometry - decimals, percents, fractions, proportions, word problems, linear and quadratic equations and graphing, factoring, statistics, proofs, theorems, absolute value, etc.
