This is the background check we require for all caregivers.
Experience: 10 yrs
For over 20 years, I have been employed as a child caregiver with six families, along with working for a Montessori School, in the Infant/Toddler Room. For over the past four years, have been working with a family, whose children are enrolled in summer camp and then preschool/school in the Fall, so I am available for full-time employment immediately. I am committed to children's well-being, growth, development and happiness. Since the first few years creates the formation and bonding process, I am conscientious about being the best role model as possible. I listen attentively, validate and respond to their individual needs, feelings and communications, with compassion and understanding. Also, I enthusiastically celebrate each milestone and accomplishment! I value my integrity, keeping my word, am trustworthy, honest and flexible. I engage in a variety of activities such as reading books, games, art, singing, dancing and play-acting, to encourage use of imagination and creativity. During interactions, teach academics: ABC`s, numbers, colors, shapes, opposites, rhyming words, etc. I use silly, playful humor, which makes the learning process a fun and enjoyable experience! For a change of environment, take children to facilities such as museums, Jungle Java and attend music/reading classes at public libraries. While there, if parents want, rent age-appropriate books and music CD's. I take walks and go to parks, as kids love exploring nature and playing outside in the open, fresh air! All these activities are fun, educational and support growth and development of motor, cognitive, intellectual and social skills. I have attended six colleges/universities in Michigan and California, in the field of Social Work/Psychology, including numerous courses related and beneficial with child care. In addition, participated in volunteer work at Children's Hospitals, which was a moving, humbling experience. I am conscientious of keeping children safe, 'out of harms way' and have been CPR Certified with the American Red Cross.
