For the last year I worked as a Direct Service Professional for a client with cerebral palsy, we got to spend almost 40 hours a week together doing a slew of different activities and he and I became great friends during that time. In high school I also had background in helping out with the special needs classes for two years. For the last almost year I'll have been a full time nanny for two different families, both of their kids on the autism spectrum.
