About Olivia

When I was in fifth grade, my mother took me with her to tutoring sessions she would schedule for two young girls in that were in first and fourth grade, and she would tutor one of them for half of the time while I tutored the other girl, and then we would switch off. I can see why my mother did this now, since looking back, I was so in love with playing "teacher" as a child that I ended up begging for an overhead projector for Christmas! Ever since then, I've felt passionately about helping others to succeed. I know how it feels to fail and to feel stupid, and I want no child to ever have to feel that way in any subject. I love the feeling of seeing that "light bulb" go off in someone's eyes so much that I have volunteered at my college tutoring center twice a week for four semesters! My best subjects are math and English, although I can also help with technical skills since I study computer science /programming at George Mason.
