My name is Samantha, after 20 years working in the child care industry as a Sunday school teacher, nanny and day care teacher went into special needs assisted home living, taking care of teens in the autism spectrum, I currently work for Medicaid and have 2 families that I work with, one day time, we focus on personal hygiene, life skills, some homeschooling, play sports, nature walks, attend family functions and local events. With the other family I do overnights, dinner time, baths, bedtime, getting ready for the day, some homeschooling also. I'm not professionally trained to work with special needs individuals, I have learned la lot in the last 3 years from what I have experienced and doing my own research, with that being said I focus on listening to parents to understand what's expected from me as a caregiver and their needs. I have a somewhat flexible schedule, mostly looking for a part time Saturdays and every other Friday.
